Anthony Bastic

Anthony Bastic is a global leader in event innovation.
Anthony’s acute understanding of what an audience is seeking and his ability to conceive and deliver events that exceed expectation is unequalled. From initial concept to ongoing internationally recognised events, Anthony has bought to life numerous events in several countries.
The Vivid Sydney Light Walk was conceived in 2009 and has grown to become one of the most successful annual public events on the Sydney calendar.  Anthony also created the annual Lights of Christmas projections – a two week long, evening celebration of the essence of Christmas – another public event that regularly breaks attendance records and is now firmly part of a Christmas tradition for Sydneysiders and visitors.

Before establishing AGB Events, Anthony held many positions in the Events and creative industry including Public Programs Manager for the Sydney Opera House from 1997-2000, Creative Director for the Sydney 2000 Olympics Live Sites, Creative Director, City Festivities for the 2003 Rugby World Cup, Event Director 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, responsible for the planning and management of the Royal Visits, Cultural Programs Manager Centennial Parklands and Protocol and Events Manager, Sydney City Council.

Rachel Hurford

General Manager
Rachel has over 20 years experience in the events industry with a reputation for the successful creation, development and delivery of major public events and celebrations.

Rachel has extensive people and project management experience, successfully leading large multi-discipline teams. As Director of Our Bridge, the Sydney Harbour Bridge 75th Anniversary Celebrations, awarded National Event of the Year, Rachel led the development and implementation of the creative, strategic, marketing and operational visions for the event.

Rachel has proven relationship and stakeholder management expertise and an established network of event industry stakeholders, both commercial and government. In her last role at the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet she was focused on issues management, providing expert strategic advice and briefings to government on special events.

An energetic, supportive and creative leader, Rachel has built cohesive delivery teams from disparate groups of stakeholders to deliver complex projects such as Oprah Winfrey’s Ultimate Australian Adventure in 2010 and the inaugural Crave Sydney in 2009 for Events NSW.

Rachel is an effective communicator at all levels of management with strong presentation skills and media spokesperson experience. She is versatile, thrives on challenges and has the ability to move comfortably from the big picture to the detail.

Tara Davies

General Manager
Tara works closely across the business and financial elements of AGB Events ensuring effective processes and operations are undertaken by the AGB Events team and projects. From the initial concept, financial and human resource management, project development to exploring new business opportunities, Tara is across every detail to make sure projects and events are delivered to the brief and over-deliver on client, sponsor and audiences expectation.

Sarah Robertson

Vice President
Sarah heads up AGB’s New York office. Sarah has extensive international experience from working with fashion label icon Ralph Lauren in New York City to working with the City of Boston on the Lights of Boston to acting as Senior Producer for Vivid Sydney Light, overseeing all production elements and ensuring the successful delivery of the world’s largest light festival since 2013.

She has produced and delivered large-scale public events for both government and corporate clients, including Lights of Christmas 2014 – 2016, Australian Garden Show Sydney 2014 – 2015, Lights of Boston 2015, Vivid Light 2013 – 2016, Australian Paralympics Farewell to Rio 2016 and more.

An extremely personable team member, Sarah excels in working directly with clients, stakeholders, artists and suppliers.

With an uncanny eye for detail, and professional dedication, Sarah helps bring to life every aspect of our events.

Giles Westley

Artistic Director
Giles Westley is Australia’s leading large-scale lighting creative projection artist.

With a background in architecture, photography, film, design and lighting, Giles draws on a diverse skillset to deliver concepts that are creatively brilliant and technically perfect – right down to the last pixel.

Leading a team of design, animation and 3D mapping experts, Giles uses visual symbolism, metaphor, and sound to create narratives that cross cultural and language divides, bringing unity and understanding to each of his projects.

Giles believes these opportunities should not just ‘wow’ people but enrich their understanding and appreciation as well.

Gina Tyler

Gina has extensive experience and knowledge of corporate and small business accounting management as well as the particulars of event accounting. As the head of the accounts department, Gina is an integral part of our team and is critical in the planning and delivery of all of our projects.

Jasmin Rather

Production Co-ordinator
Jasmin is a graduate of one of Sydney’s leading Creative Industries Colleges, majoring in Entertainment Business Management. With a passion for art and public events Jasmin provides a personalised approach to AGB’s clients, artists and suppliers, dedicating her growing range of skills to the production, event management and creative services.

Jasmin has played a key role in the delivery of Vivid Light 2015 & 2016, the world’s largest light festival, as well as Lights of Christmas 2015. Jasmin used this experience and knowledge and led the production team in successfully delivering the first light festival in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, entitled Parrtjima – A Festival in Light this past September.
